What's with the mule??  The Missouri Mule was chosen as the state animal on May 31, 1995. The Missouri Mule was used to pull pioneer wagons to the west in the 1800's. It is known for being a strong animal. For many years, Missouri was the state that raised the most mules.

How about the bear?? The Missouri state seal was designed by Judge Robert William Wells. It was approved on January 11, 1822. The seal is made up of many symbols. Each symbol has a special meaning. The two bears show courage and strength. To learn more click here.
