| PROGRAM GOALS 1. Program participant will be prevented from delinquent activity and penetration into the juvenile justice system. 2. Program participant will receive skills and services to enhance the youth's and family's strengths. PROGRAM COMPONENTS Individual counseling; life skills training; community service project; participation in community organization mentor assignment; reside in Disproportionate Minority Confinement target area. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AGE:11 to 17 years GENDER: Male OFFENSE OR RISK FACTORS: Delinquent offenders on probation, classified as maximum to intensive levels of risk. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION PROGRAM TYPE: Community-based, after-school supervision and competency-building program STAFF SIZE: 1 Manager, 1 Community Outreach worker; 1 Youth Worker; collaborating partners LINE STAFF/ CLIENT RATIO: 1:10 DURATION OF INVOLVEMENT: 11 weeks CAPACITY: 20 REFERRAL SOURCE: Family Court Personnel PARENTS: To contribute to successful program involvement, it is the responsibility of the parent to: Appear for enrollment and meet with program. |
