PROGRAM GOALS

1. To monitor youth/parents whose movement in the community has been restricted.
2. To supplement supervision of youth on probation.
3. Reduce number of high-risk youth in Detention.
4. Provide secure transport for high-risk youth.


PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Electronic surveillance; face-to-face contacts; school contacts; residence contacts; telephone contacts; employment checks; and secure transports.

AGE: 11 to 17 years
GENDER:
Male/Female
OFFENSE OR RISK FACTORS:
Delinquent offenders; parents in the Family Drug Court

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
PROGRAM TYPE: Community-based surveillance program
STAFF SIZE: 1 Manager; 1 Lead Youth Worker; 4 Youth Workers; 1 Transportation Youth Worker
LINE STAFF/ CLIENT RATIO: 1:18
DURATION OF INVOLVEMENT: 4 to 6 weeks
CAPACITY: 525 per year
REFERRAL SOURCE: Judicial order; Family Court Personnel

PARENTS:
To contribute to successful program involvement, it is the responsibility of the parent to:

Authorize removal of telephone features for electronic monitoring; cooperate with Home Detention staff; be financially responsible for lost and/or broken equipment and supplies.
