FIELD SERVICES

PROGRAM GOALS

1. To reduce/eliminate the need for residential placement
2. To eliminate additional delinquent activity and referrals of participants who have been in a residential placement.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Individual family and group counseling; school contacts; life skills training; drug education; community service.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
AGE:11 to 17 years
GENDER: Male/Female
OFFENSE OR RISK FACTORS: Delinquent offenders at risk for residential commitment and offenders re-entering the community from residential placement.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

PROGRAM TYPE: Community-based, intensive probation supervision and surveillance
STAFF SIZE: 1 Manager; 4 Juvenile Probation Officers
LINE STAFF/ CLIENT RATIO: 1:15
DURATION OF INVOLVEMENT: 6 to 9 months
CAPACITY: 100 per year
REFERRAL SOURCE: Judicial order - Administrative transfers - Residential Services

PARENTS:
To contribute to successful program involvement, it is the responsibility of the parent to:

Weekly face-to-face contacts with Juvenile Probation Officers; participation in family counseling as recommended; compliance with Family Court orders; reporting of juveniles non-compliance with Family Court orders and probation requirements; participation in parent education classes, participation in treatment planning.
