The Jackson County Family Court consists of the:

The 16th Judicial Circuit, Family Court Division exercises jurisdiction over families as defined by Missouri statutes. This includes divorces, child custody, child support, and cases that involve juvenile dependency and law violations.

The Juvenile Officer is considered the prosecuting attorney in all actions filed pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 211.

Family Court Services supports the Family Court in providing interventions for youth and families to ensure accountability, skill development, and protection of the community.

  • Office of Guardian ad Litem

    The Office of the Guardian ad Litem serves as the Guardian ad Litem for most of the children involved in abuse and neglect cases filed by the Juvenile Officer.
